It is a great joy to welcome healthy babies every day at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center. Thankfully, many of these babies will not require advanced care, though when they do, our Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is ready to step in.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, volunteers and community members, 2021was a deeply impactful year at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center.

Twenty-one clinicians across Providence Southern California were recently recognized at the inaugural Physician Champion Award Dinner on May 5 for their significant contributions to building a culture of philanthropy at their medical campuses.

Upon her retirement in 2006, Linda created the Linda Coale Nursing Excellence Endowment. Funds from the endowment help nurses pay for continuing education, including advanced degrees and specialty certification programs.

May 1, 1984, was a life-changing day for the Sapper family.

It was the day Michele Sapper, then a junior in college, was on her way back to her dorm at Cal State Northridge when she was hit head-on by a one-ton pickup truck. The drunk driver never put on his brakes. It was also the day that Providence Holy Cross Medical Center opened as a trauma center.

Michele would become the hospital’s first successful trauma patient. But her road to recovery from the horrific accident was far from easy.
