ER nurse becomes a patient
Amber Lockhart has happily worked for years as an ER nurse at Holy Cross. But when she was rushed to the hospital’s NICU thirty-two weeks into her pregnancy she saw a whole other side of the hospital caregivers, this time from a patient’s perspective. “They were amazing,” she said.

A preemie is saved
Amanda Rodriguez’s pregnancy was just shy of six months when her physician at Providence Holy Cross suspected that there was more going on than just a simple UTI. Her son was immediately delivered at just 24 weeks and sent directly into the NICU where he spent nearly 3 months. Today, he’s an active and healthy toddler.

Shooting trauma overcome
Students Mia Tretta and Addison Koegle lives were changed forever when a classmate came to their high school armed with a pistol. He shot five students – killing two – before killing himself. The surgeons, nurses and other staff members at Holy Cross worked tirelessly to treat their injuries.

A rescuer is saved
In an attempt to save a cat, Michael Fiore ended up with a broken clavicle, collapsed lung, multiple broken ribs and internal bleeding. He his full recovery, he remains forever grateful to the trauma care physicians, specialists and especially the nurses at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center.
