A Legacy of Vision and Compassion
Remembering Gerry Puchlik
Providence Holy Cross Foundation mourns the profound loss of Gerald (Gerry) Puchlik, an esteemed architect, longtime supporter and board member. He was raised in the Silverlake area of Los Angeles and received his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Cal Poly Pomona in 1975. Gerry met and married his beloved wife of over 50 years, Janet Lynn Liljegren, in 1973, and their son, Karl, was born eight years later. After buying their first home in Hollywood, CA, they later moved to Granada Hills, CA, where they resided for over 41 years.
Gerry joined the Providence Holy Cross Foundation board in 2000, making significant contributions, most notably reviving the annual golf tournament as a vital fundraising mechanism, which successfully raised funds in support of Providence Holy Cross for six years. As vice chair of the Providence Holy Cross Foundation board, and a member of the Providence Health System San Fernando Valley Service Area board, Gerry’s contributions were both extensive and impactful. His dual perspective as a health care architect and a foundation board member equipped him with unique insights, allowing him to advocate fervently with lawmakers and regulatory agencies. His mission was always the continuous improvement of health care facilities such as Providence Holy Cross.
“One on one, Gerry was open and honest. He cared deeply about his wife and life partner, Janet, and his son, Karl, and son-in-law, Jeffrey. Gerry was a truly good person, and he will be missed,” shares Bernie Klein, M.D., chief executive. “Gerry – thank you for being a part of the Providence Holy Cross family.”
