A Community Rooted in Care
Celebrating 65 years of Providence Holy Cross
This year, Providence Holy Cross Medical Center celebrates 65 years of caring for our community. Founded in 1961 by the Sisters of the Holy Cross, the medical center was created to meet the health care needs of a rapidly growing region — a mission that continues to guide its work today.
Over the decades, Providence Holy Cross has become a destination hospital for high-quality care in the community. Philanthropy and partnership have helped expand emergency services, advance specialty programs and invest in the caregivers and technology that make lifesaving care possible. Today, the medical center is widely known for its compassionate care and nationally recognized for clinical quality, nursing excellence and patient safety.
“The support of our community allows us to continue advancing care while keeping patients and families at the center of everything we do,” says Rex Hoffman, M.D., chief medical officer.
As the timeline on these pages highlights, Providence Holy Cross has grown alongside the community it serves — and together, we are just getting started.
