A Shared Mission
The Eghbalieh brothers are driven by a passion for healing and dedication to serving our community
Growing up, the bond between the Eghbalieh brothers was extraordinarily strong. A childhood of working and playing together, encouraging each other through good times and bad, led to staying closely connected as adults. So, it’s no surprise they work as a team at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center.
Babak “Bobby” Eghbalieh, M.D., director of hepatobiliary pancreatic surgery and robotic surgery, always knew medicine was his calling. “In our household, education was valued above
all,” he says. “We are third-generation physicians. Our father was an internist and a pharmacist, and we grew up around folks who dedicated their lives to taking care of others.”
Sammy Eghbalieh, M.D., director of vascular and endovascular surgery, served first as a teacher in Los Angeles. He witnessed the disparities plaguing low-income communities and was moved to make a difference by directly addressing the health care needs of the underserved.
Navid Eghbalieh, M.D., medical director of radiology, embarked on his journey from the realm of art. After owning an art gallery and working as a paramedic, he was guided by his desire to make a tangible difference for patients.
Choosing Providence Holy Cross
The decision to practice at Providence Holy Cross was rooted in their shared commitment to caring for the vulnerable.
The three collectively chose an area in need of more local specialists. Dr. Sammy Eghbalieh was the first to join the medical center. “We recognized that Providence Holy Cross is the true
‘hidden gem’ of the Valley and that it goes above and beyond to serve its patients,” he says. “We resonated with the hospital’s mission and values, which prioritize compassionate care, community service and excellence in health care delivery.”
Dr. Navid Eghbalieh agrees and adds, “we were attracted to the collaborative and supportive environment at Providence Holy Cross, where interdisciplinary teamwork and professional
growth opportunities are encouraged. Working together allows us to provide a multidisciplinary approach to each of our patients on a level that ensures the best outcomes.”
Power of philanthropy
As physicians, the Eghbaliehs are well aware of the power of philanthropy to impact patient care. “We’re proud that Providence Holy Cross has the foresight and vision to invest in its future,” says Dr. Bobby Eghbalieh. “With the help of
philanthropy, we’ve got talented physicians and caregivers, the latest technology and innovative programs that are propelling the medical center to the forefront of advanced care.”
As individuals and siblings bound by a shared mission to serve, the Eghbalieh brothers stand poised to leave an indelible mark on our community.
