Working together to ease the way of our patients and community
Providence Holy Cross was honored to welcome U.S. Representative Tony Cárdenas to our medical center for a tour of our newest NICU expansion project. Our “Keeping Families
Together” NICU expansion will increase our unit’s capacity by 50%, upgrade technology, and keep mothers and their newly born children together. U.S. Rep. Tony Cárdenas selected this project for Community Project Funding, an initiative that allows members of Congress to request direct funding for projects that benefit the communities they represent. Thank you, Rep. Tony Cárdenas, for your leadership and continued support of our medical center.

Investing in Community Health
In August, Providence Holy Cross welcomed California Assemblymember Suzette Martinez Valladares for a tour and thoughtful discussion on community health investments. Our team provided information on our ongoing NICU expansion
project, navigation for people experiencing homelessness, and discharge procedures for patients. We look forward to working with community stakeholders and partners to ease the way for our community and improve the health of our patients and their families.

Committing to the Community
As a display of Providence Holy Cross’ commitment to the community, San Fernando Mayor Mary Mendoza, City Manager Nick Kimball and Community Development Director Julian Venegas were recently welcomed to our hospital and given a tour. Providence Holy Cross eases the way for people who are experiencing homelessness when they are discharged, including
the navigation program aimed at linking these patients to community health resources with the goal of limiting their need for emergency care. We are grateful for the support of our elected officials.

Raising Awareness
Providence Holy Cross recently invited U.S. Representative Mike Garcia to take a tour of our medical center and meet with our hospital leadership team. Our team walked him through our new NICU expansion and discussed the project with him, as well as the benefits it will provide to our community. We are grateful for U.S. Rep. Mike Garcia’s time and support.
