This year, three initiatives showcase how donor support is transforming lives every day.

Reaching New Depths in Lung Cancer Detection: Ion Bronchoscopy

Early and accurate diagnosis is key to saving lives. Thanks to philanthropic support, Providence Holy Cross is able to perform Ion bronchoscopy, a minimally invasive, robotic-assisted procedure that allows physicians to biopsy even the smallest and hardest-to-reach lung nodules with unmatched precision.

The system’s ultra-thin, flexible catheter — guided by real-time imaging and robotic technology — enhances both accuracy and stability compared to traditional methods, reducing complications and helping patients receive timely diagnoses.

Since its introduction, the Ion bronchoscopy system has already surpassed expected use, with over 75 procedures performed in its first year. For patients and their families, this means answers come faster, anxiety is reduced and lifesaving treatment can begin sooner.

Expanding Cardiac Rehabilitation: More Space, More Healing

Heart health is at the core of our mission, and demand for our outpatient cardiac rehabilitation program continues to grow. With donor support, Providence Holy Cross is expanding cardiac rehab into a larger, dedicated space, doubling our capacity to serve  patients recovering from heart disease or surgery.

The expansion will add eight new monitors and 11 additional cardio stations, creating a safer, more comfortable environment where patients can build strength and confidence under expert supervision.  This growth will also shorten wait times, ensuring that more patients can start their recovery journeys sooner — because every day matters after a cardiac event.

Bringing Stroke Awareness to the Community: 2025 Stroke Health Fair

Philanthropy doesn’t just transform care inside our hospital — it extends into the community.  With donor support, Providence Holy Cross hosted the 2025 Stroke Health Fair, a cornerstone of our work as a Comprehensive Stroke Center.

This event provides free health screenings, valuable education and access to lifesaving resources, while also fostering deeper community connections. By empowering our neighbors with knowledge and tools for prevention, we are building a healthier community — one conversation, one screening and one life at a time.
