Providence Holy Cross leaders take action to serve those in need

At Providence Holy Cross, leadership isn’t just about decision-making — it’s about living our mission. During the April 2025 Leadership Excellence Retreat, our leaders came together for a hands-on service activity that embodied the heart of our values.

In just over an hour, more than 600 care kits were assembled for distribution across the San Fernando Valley. The team prepared 300 hygiene kits, thoughtfully filled with essential items like toothbrushes, shampoo and deodorant. Another 300 kits were created for families affected by fire-related crises, offering practical tools such as frying pans and utensils, tied together with care and twine for a warm, human touch.

Each kit also included a handwritten compassionate card — personal messages of hope and encouragement from Providence caregivers to the community members who need it most.

The majority of kits were distributed to trusted community partners, including Humane World for Animals, Giving Children Hope, Child Development Institute and Neighborhood Survants. Additional kits supported local organizations throughout Mission Hills and the broader Providence Holy Cross service area.

This initiative was more than an act of service — it was a meaningful reminder of what unites us: a shared commitment to healing, humanity and hope beyond hospital walls.
