Hany has been with Optum for the last 22 years, serving as attending Surgeon and more recently, Community Medical Director overseeing the Specialty Network.
He’s a recipient of the Resident Achievement Award from the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons and holds a BS degree in biology from UCLA. He’s fluent in Arabic.
What motivates your desire to give back?
I’m driven by a sense of gratitude for the opportunities I‘ve been given, and a sense of responsibility to give back to the Holy Cross and Mission Hills Community.
Why are you supporting the medical center?
I’ve served the Holy Cross community as Chair of the Dept. of Surgery for three terms, and currently serve as Chief of Staff.
Why did you agree to join the foundation board?
While I am not gifted as a fundraiser, I believe there are other ways I can contribute to the board through my long lasting relationships in the community.
